Here is a look at our School Wide Assembly today introducing our new school culture goal. We welcomed
NPH, Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos, from El Salvador.
Ask your students to tell you a little bit about their lives there!
We heard about why they live at NPH and what their home looks like.
(You can visit their website HERE.)
The students LOVED hearing the young people from NPH play their music and dance. They were a wonderful and respectful audience!
The members of NPH told us their songs and dances tell a story of growing up in El Salvador.
After the assembly, we had a chance to visit with the members of NPH and ask them a few questions about their lives in El Salvador.
The first graders had some wonderful questions. We found out that we have a few differences from the young people from El Salvador, as well as many things in common!
They enjoy many of the same things we do.
The young students from NPH told us the biggest difference from El Salvador and the United State is the weather. They said it is so cold here they even feel that they have to wear a heavy coat inside. They are used to HEAT, HEAT, HEAT all the time!
We began to talk about our school wide goal of helping others in our families, school, communities, and around the world and how we can begin to do that.
