Winter Buddies! Part 1

Our First Graders enjoyed some time with their 4th Grade Buddies on Friday!

We did a following directions activity where the students had to make 4 snowmen together holding hands.  The kids LOVED this!!!  They then followed a set of 10 directions to decorate their snowmen.

The students also worked on solving the first graders' Winter Story Problems that they made up!  The 4th Graders solved the problems and the first graders used their white boards to show their buddies how we have been working on proving our answers using different strategies.

We will finish up this activity with up buddies next week!

The first and fourth graders practiced their sequencing skills with the book Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberley

First, the students created their own monsters, piece by piece.

Then, they write about the steps they took using transition words.

Their projects turned out AMAZING!
